And what a view ! It’s simple : it’s one of the most spectacular panorama ever recorded.
And I wanted to do things right. With the very helpful initiative of Doug Ellison, in charge of programming Navcam panorama at JPL, the dream was reachable. This sol, he commands the rover to take a set of pictures of the rover itself, full body, just right before a full Mastcam34 integration. The goal ? To complete this panorama because most of them don’t include the rover deck. And I did manage to have a result never obtain before : a true complet color panorama !
The process was not simple : first, Mastcam pictures weren’t downlinked in colors but in greyscaled-jpeged-Bayered form. Then, I had to match Mastcam and Navcam images in order to have a smooth transition between them. After, the colorization of the Navcam scenery.
